The Oy With The Reading Already Tag // Gilmore Girls + Books = Magic! βœ¨

Hey popcorns! 🍿

How are you all keeping? School starts in 4 days AHH so I’m trying to just not freak out (key word trying) πŸ˜‚

I have come to the shocking revelation that I am not going to be able to post all my tags before my hiatus in September which is totally alright, this tag week albeit very unorganised has helped me to post a few tags here and there (three tags Amber, three! πŸ˜‚)

Before we begin I just wanted to say say a massive thank you for all your lovely comments on the collab post yesterday… it makes me and El so happy that you all enjoyed the whole idea! πŸ₯°

Also I had so many plans for my art collage yesterday but got caught up with customising my blog website but it was definitely worth it, I just need to take my profile picture then we’re good to go! 😊

I was nominated for this award by Rhi @ Marshmallow Harmonies over a year ago which feels crazy but recently she re-did the tag with new/updated graphics so I’m super excited to start this!

Rhi has a gorgeous book blog that is just incredible, you will find so many books to add to your tbr on there and I feel like she is just the main hub of the book blog community β™₯

And it’s a book tag WHICH TAKE SO MUCH FORMATTING but I love them πŸ€·β€β™€οΈ

Before we begin I must express how much I love this idea of combining books and Gilmore Girls, two of the greatest joys in life. I love Gilmore Girls so, so, so much. There was just never an episode I didn’t like?? Lorelai and Rory have such a good relationship! It’s literally like living with your best friend 😊

Fangirl by Rainbow Rowell

This has to be Wren from Fangirl (love that book with all my heart), I just thought she was such a poor excuse of a twin sister? She always complained about Cath not being honest with her but every time Cath did she’d be so grumpy and un-sympathetic that I’m not surprised Cath didn’t want to give her the time of day.

Although they’re the opposite genders I think it still counts, I did always like Luke and I feel if I lived in Stars Hollow I would be at his diner 24/7 but no other place makes coffee like him β˜•

Jack King from the Opposite Of Always. God I love that book so much it hurts, this book was the first time I actually annotated a book because there were too may important, witty lines in there would get lost in the vast expanse that they call ‘my brain’.

Lorelai Gilmore’s life motto is ‘life is short, talk fast’ so that pretty much says it all. Jack always had something smart and down-right hilarious to say and I just wish I had a Jack King/Lorelai Gilmore in my life!

Countless by Karen Gregory

Hedda out of Countless. That book, god it’s sad. I chose her because she did love to read but she didn’t do it often but I think she could have been a much more major bookworm had it not been for Nia (her eating disorder) and I rarely read a book that involves other people reading books?? It’s so uncommon now I think about it πŸ˜‚

Rory Gilmore oh my- i honestly thought she was my spirit fictional character (definitely at the start of Gilmore Girls anyway) πŸ€— Watching her grow up was my favourite past time

The Sacrifice (The Enemy #4)

I would one-hundred-percento hang out with The Kid from The Sacrifice (The Enemy series) as he’s just so crazy, funny and never fails to make me laugh. He would just be one of those friends that you could count on to make you smile whenever about whatever!

I kinda liked Sookie but I also didn’t at the same time. I don’t know, she wasn’t my favourite as I personally thought she gave rubbish advice sometimes and I don’t want to do any spoilers but POOR LORELAI.

I don’t re-read books, it’s just not something I enjoy but I don’y think it’s bad if people do I just like having one experience of a book you know? Savour that and treasure it πŸ₯°

Instead I’m changing this to a book that you would re-read for comfort if you did re-read books.

Only Love Can Break Your Heart by Katherine Webber

Only Love Can Break Your Heart. This book taught me so, so much. Even the title is a work of art itself and the whole story? It’s raw, honest and really, really painful. It’s real. It shows the demons of everything and the ending was everything I could have asked for and more.

I loved Richard Gilmore!! NO really he gave some really good advice and he was always there for Rory in her dark days when even Lorelai wasn’t so I love him for that

Running Girl eBook: Mason, Simon: Kindle Store

Running Girl. It’s a small town but a lot goes on there, I’m currently reading the second book in the Garvie Smith series and it’s okay? It’s not a scratch on the first one!

Dean was okay but I can’t believe- whoops! Nearly let another spoiler go there. Anyways we will all always love Dean because- okay wait I need to stop πŸ˜‚

Silence is Goldfish by Annabel Pitcher

The protagonist is an outsider. This is a very common trope but if it’s written properly? It’s everything I could want in a book than more. Outsiders interest me from more than populars who no one likes anyway and it’s the quiet ones you have to watch 🀨

The best book that represents this book in my opinion is Silence Is Goldfish.

I love Jess, he was damn right the best LI out of them all πŸ₯°

It Only Happens in the Movies: Usborne: 9781474921329: Books -

Harry from It Only Happens In The Movies. That book killed me. He’s reckless, spontaneous and crazy. He’s the sort of guy to whisk you off your feet when you’re least expecting it. To knock on your bedroom window at crazy o’clock just because he wanted to see you.

I don’t like Logan. He’s slimy, untrustworthy ad not remotely attractive?? Blondes aren’t my type though πŸ€·β€β™€οΈ

The Hate U Give - Whitcoulls

Starr and Chris from The Hate U Give. Another amazing read. They had such a long relatioship that lasted the whole story and just proves that coming from two different worlds isn’t an un-crossable barrier 😊

I had mixed feelings about Emily a lot of the time but I ended up really liking her, it wasn’t her fault that Lorelai prevented her from getting too involved in her life, it was just a very rocky relationship.

Six of Crows: Collector's Edition : Leigh Bardugo : 9781510106284

Wylan Van Eck from Six of Crows. I also liked Wylan (omg him and Jesper though, ultimate ship!!) and he’s probably the only musical character I can think of? I’ll try think of some more but I think that’s it.

Lane was such a supportive best friend and I just think without Lane Rory might have been more introverted maybe?

Also I love the cover (see right) I wish I had that copy…

All These Beautiful Strangers

All These Beautfiul Strangers. I told everyone about this book, it was just a really interesting read and I don’t usually talk about what I’m reading much but I could not stop blabbing πŸ˜‚

Miss Patty is such a chatter box, definitely the town chatter box but we loved her for it.

<– before you leave let’s just appreciate the cover art and how gorgeous it is

The Last Summer of Us” at Usborne Children's Books

Limpet from The Last Summer Of Us. She said a lot of things that I could relate to and talked a lot about unveiling the mask that we all wear and showing who we really are and how we really feel.

I am a Paris mixed with a Rory, a bookworm but a heavy planner. Paris really suck with Rory when a lot of people didn’t so we love her for that πŸ₯°

That’s all for now everyone, I am too tired to do the other 5 but I did 10 πŸ˜‚ This will be the last you’ll be hearing of me till October, I wish you all a wonderful September and just remember to keep smiling, it will get easier I promise ❀

Keep reading too everyone, there’s always a happy place in books πŸ“š

Enjoyed the tag? Watched or going to watch Gilmore Girls? Good vibes about September?

That’s a wrap, bye for now popcorns πŸ€—

  1. Hey, its been ages. I hope you’re well and that everything’s going okay.

I’ve somehow only ever seen odd episodes of Gilmore Girls. I did enjoy the ones that I’ve seen though so I’ll majorly have to try and watch it from the start one day. From what I saw I think I’d really relate to Rory though.

I had no idea there was a musical character in Six Of Crows πŸ˜… I can’t believe I still haven’t read it. Soon though!! I have to get it read this year, along with the other Grishaverse books, so that I can watch the adaptation. There are a few books here that I seriously need to read actually.

  2. I love this tag! My mum was actually the person who introduced me to Gilmore Girls, and I’m almost done with it. I completely agree with you!! I hate Logan so much! He just annoys me a lot! I also love the aesthetic of your blog and your blogging voice ❀πŸ₯Ί
